Natalie Goes For Gold
It's that time of year again. The nominations are in for the Logie Awards, the Australian television industry's annual celebration of its best and brightest talent. Neighbours babe Natalie Blair (Carmella Cammeniti) is going for Gold and she needs your vote!
Nat's nomination has created a buzz in the industry as the award usually goes to long-standing TV personalities. Natalie is this year's youngest nominee, but then Neighbours does hold the record for the youngest ever winner. Kylie Minogue (Charlene Ramsay) was just nineteen when she won in 1988. Plus Natalie herself has great form when it comes to the Logies. In 2005 she won the Most Popular New Female Talent category despite still only being a guest actor on the show.
However in her first year as a full time cast member Natalie has more than proved herself. She returned as a naughty nun, revealing that she entered the convent to atone for a heinous sin: selling her own cousin's baby. And she was punished for her crimes when crazy cousin Teresa threw boiling water in her face, leaving her disfigured and facing serious reconstructive surgery.
It's also a Battle of the Natalies in the Silver Logie category of Most Popular Actress. Natalie Blair is nominated again, alongside her former colleague and namesake, Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Izzy Hoyland).
And it's not just about the girls. NIDA graduate Ben Lawson (Frazer Yeats) is flying the flag for the men of Erinsborough with his nomination for Most Popular New Male Talent. The show itself is also nominated for Most Popular Australian Drama.
