Having only recently moved back to Melbourne for his role on Neighbours, Brett Tucker is happy to finally call Melbourne home. "I bought a house in St Kilda just before I moved to Adelaide for my role on McLeod's Daughters. I had just finished renovating it when I got the gig so I had to rent it out. It's nice to finally be able to live in my own house" he grins.
The Victorian-born star says he has always had a passion for acting. He became serious about the profession when he moved from country Victoria to Melbourne at the age of 21 to pursue his dream.
Brett has starred in many Australian dramas such as McLeod's Daughters, Blue Heelers and The Saddle Club. However, according to Brett, it was his role in the film The Outsider that remains most memorable for him. "Getting naked with Naomi Watts was definitely a career highlight!" jokes the actor.
More recently, Brett travelled Australia for six months with the highly acclaimed theatre production of Woman in Black.
When he's not working, Brett enjoys outdoor sports such as snow boarding, surfing and playing footy. He's also a big Carlton Football Club fan; another reason he's enjoying being back in Melbourne!
Brett isn't new to Ramsay Street, having appeared in a three-month guest role on the show in 2000 playing a trainee teacher at Erinsborough High School. Seven years on, Brett resumes his role as the same character, Dan Fitzgerald, who is now the school counsellor and PE teacher.
