Back in the day, Libby was a bright and inquisitive teenager. Wise beyond her years, there were definite signs of middle child syndrome as she battled against her older brother Mal and bossed around her little brother Billy.

Passionate about politics, Libby was always destined to do something to change the world. Although she initially wanted to go into government, she ended up studying journalism at university. After a stint on the Erinsborough News team and a stab at launching her own magazine, Libby eventually followed in her mother Susan’s footsteps and turned to teaching.

Libby’s love life didn’t get off to a great start. After several failed schoolgirl relationships, Libby fell in love with bad-boy-turned-good Darren Stark. Karl did not approve and he cheated on her twice in the course of their doomed courtship.

She found true happiness with Oakey boy Drew Kirk and their fairytale romance is still the stuff of Erinsborough legend. The couple nearly didn’t make it down the aisle when Libby had a horrific motorcycle accident with best friend Steph shortly before the wedding and learned that she wouldn’t be able to have children. She called the engagement off but Steph (who was in love with Drew herself) talked her round and their wedding was one of the biggest and most beautiful events in Ramsay Street history.

Further down the line Libby was stunned to discover that she was pregnant after all. Little Ben’s birth was nothing short of traumatic but the drama paled into insignificance when Drew was suddenly and shockingly killed in a horse-riding accident. Libby never completely came to terms with the loss of her one true love and this even affected her next big relationship: back in the arms of Darren Stark.

Having reconnected, they headed off to Shepparton as a family but when Libby returned to Ramsay Street without her partner it was clear that she was hiding something. It emerged that Darren had cheated once again. A combination of his issues plus her lack of closure with Drew led them both to believe that they would be better off apart.

Now Libby is embracing her new life in Erinsborough. Teaching at Erinsborough High with her old friend Daniel Fitzgerald, sparks are already flying. However, both Libby and Dan have massive amounts of baggage… will Libby’s heart be broken all over again? Or is she just looking for love in all the wrong places?
