Marco Silvani is the son of Franco Silvani and heir to the Silvani family fruit empire. He met Carmella when his company began supplying Celestial Fruits and has had a crush on her ever since. When Carmella was looking to expand her business online, Marco leapt into action to help her out, knowing both a good business and a good romantic opportunity when he saw one.

Carmella was intially reluctant to get involved and it was sister Rosie who told her she'd be mad to pass up a handsome, charming, witty and intelligent single man. Heavily pregnant with Oliver's child at the time, Carmella wasn't even sure Marco was interested.

Although his father is a staunchly traditional Italian, Marco is a modern guy with an open mind. Father and son have a similar flair for business, which is why Franco has handed control of the empire to hard working Marco. Marco takes great pride in this honour but the truth is his passion lies elsewhere. In his heart-of-hearts he’d love to run a little café and fill it with the irresistible smells from his kitchen because life for Marco is all about food, wine, love and family. A family of his own is all he’s ever wanted but it's been a dream that has eluded him until now.

It took Marco a long time for him to get over his failed marriage to Marissa which dissolved when he discovered he could never have children. It’s a big secret to hide, but it’s one Marco knows he must keep from his family. His father lives for the idea of succession and inheritance – carrying on the family name - and Marco doesn't want to be the one to break his Franco’s heart. But with Carmella and her baby Chloe, perhaps he’s found the family that he’s always craved. And perhaps he'll finally find the strength to follow his own dreams instead of those of his father.
